The primary election for District 1 Commissioner of Archuleta County is fast approaching.

This primary is critical to the future of Archuleta County, and as such, every candidate has put out a lot of information to help us make an informed decision.  

August 12th is only a few short days away and during that time the daunting task of sifting and sorting through all the information, advertisements and rumors falls upon our citizens.  

The time is now to get Archuleta County back on track.

Robin Schiro has the experience, integrity and vision to lead Archuleta County in the right direction.  Robin is the only Republican Primary candidate who served our Country in the Armed Forces.  The lessons and values of military service are invaluable to a public official, and to this county.  

Robin Schiro has the discipline to make the right decision, even when it is not the easy choice.  She is the only commissioner to vote against wasteful spending that went above the County budget and triggered last year’s financial crisis.  The military taught Robin the value of sacrifice, which is why she donated her commissioner’s salary back to the County to keep hard working employees on the job.

Robin Schiro has a comprehensive plan to increase financial transparency and governmental accountability.  Her plan would give citizens a direct voice in every dollar spent, the best way to ensure prosperity of Archuleta County.  Schiro’s plan reschedules commissioner meetings so working families can conveniently attend and not be left out of the future of our County.  Robin’s plan attracts businesses and creates new jobs.  Robin Schiro understands that our taxes are an investment in the future of our County.  She knows that tax money should be spent on the benefit of every citizen of Archuleta County, not in the personal interests of a few.

Robin Schiro has more than 25 years as a professional engineer.  She has the expertise and experience to maintain and improve our County roads.  Robin knows that it takes dedication, hard work and fiscal responsibility to ensure that our roads are durable and safe for our families.
